Summer has now started to get closer to its end and your vacations are over too, back to work to address the challenges in your agenda. A conference needs to be planned which means we can kick-start autumn silently by thinking on it. You have a couple of new colleagues who will be a part of our gang, soon. You have learnt already from a previous course that for leadership it is important that everyone is sitting on the same boat and rowing towards a common controlled target, which is eventually reached. There aren’t any feelings about “us” and “them”; our aims will be high.
Plan, plan, plan with pressure from time limits. You have other priorities in your agenda that you need to tackle, consecutively. How will you do that? What should I begin with, you think to yourself, and feel stress levels rising, taking over you.
To address that, we have put together some tools and tips for you:
2 Weeks Before the Conference Day:
Let your colleagues be a part of streamlined lessons about communication and group development. Ask them to write down questions regarding the content that shall be discussed during the conference day. These lectures can be uploaded in the event app, that you invested in to avoid printing papers and being more environment friendly. Let your colleagues download the event app 2 weeks before the conference day so that they can become part of the agenda and other important information, for e.g. the places where they should be, how it can be found, etc.
During the Conference day:
Set a time to discuss and go over the issues and questions that your colleagues had regarding the lectures, this can be coupled with how they can experience it today in their workplace.
Also plan an experience-based activity with the aim to strengthen the group’s unity.
With the event app, you can also prepare your own questions to be part of the discussion. You can share this with employers in small group so they get to discuss on it. Questions, for e.g. aims to set an agenda based on how you want your workplace to be. The results can be made visible on the big screen. The small groups gave in their answers via the app. You can end the day by jointly taking part in a small order of lectures that talk about work environment “We are all our own work environment”.
After the conference day:
By now, you have made the groups stronger within, and everyone has high energy levels. This continues to make people work towards the development and improvement of their workplace. Afterall, the conference was not only about an event, it was about the continuous effort you need to put in to bring all your colleagues together on the same page towards the same goal.
Therefore, you need to set times where you can continue to work with discussions on your workplace and be a part of various webinars or a stream of lectures/trainings, as a tool to create your best workplace. You can even use the eventapp to discuss new questions that are first discussed in smaller groups and then in big groups. Eventapp can also be used with other arrangements that would be planned during the year.
